Canaday City Day 16

Got a lot done today.  Well, ok, today and a little bit last night.  Biggest news, I FINISHED THE ISLAND!!!  Or at least I think I did.  as far as I can tell I did.  it is 91x56 in case anyone is wondering.  With that done, I rebuilt Watchtower using cobblestone this time.  Always planned on doing that, just hadn't yet.  I will be rebuilding and maybe expanding the Mining Site as well.I also tamed some wolves for a total of 5 (and two had a baby, so six) and I will probably be expanding Watchtower to make a shelter for them.  or at least extending the roof.

With that done, I built a path out to the island.  It is 6 across and goes down 4 blocks.  why down?  I'll get to that in a bit.  The center four blocks are cobblestone, changing to three blocks wide whine I get to the Farm site.  When I finished it, I dug a basement in Watchtower and dug a tunnel to the path, then dug to the island.  Now I can get to the island with out going outside if I want.  I also started a mine entrance when I mined some Iron Ore I found while digging the tunnel.  will be working on that soon.

Once the tunnel was done, I lit it up and began working on my house.  I laid the foundation of it and then built the path and tunnel to it.  That was fun because I was starting to get to where I added on.  I will be building a basement for my house eventually, and then the tunnel will open into the basement.

Not it's time to work on my house.

Canaday City Day 14-15

Ok, time to come clean.  this is actually stuff from more then two days. Probably more like 5 or 6 days.  But each day was only for a little bit of time.  I think I saw auto save only once or twice during all that time.  that's less then 30 minutes at a time.  So I just decided to combine them all.

I started planting the fields and planted some wheat.  that's it for now, but it is a good start.  and I got a crap load of dirt.  So much so that I am almost done with the island.  Oh, and I found out that I am almost done with the island!  Just one more load of dirt should do it, at least for the island itself.  I need some for some landscaping, but that can wait.  I think I might need to add on a row or two of dirt when I am done, but I'm not sure.  like I said, that would be due to some landscaping stuff.  so it might not be done, but for it basically is.  I'll find out next time I play.

So still a bit of work, but pretty soon I can start working on stuff other then building a big freaking island in the middle of the ocean.

Canaday City Day 12-13

I'm not doing the best with updating this thing.  Fortunately I didn't do much last time I played so that would have been a short post anyways.

DAY 12

I finished the Island!!! or at least that I wanted to do on it for now.  Still lots more work to do, but I was sick of working on it for now.  So I decided to work on the farm site.  I built 4 barns and plotted out the fields where I will grow stuff.  Then I built paths leading to everything out of cobblestone.  Finally I got a cow, a sheep, and a pig into the barns.  Got a second cow into the cow barn, but it took taking out the back of the barn, luring the cow in, and rebuilding the barn.  Going to have to figure out an easier way.

DAY 13

Figured out the easier way!  by extending the back of the barns, and making the fenced in area bigger, I was able to get a second sheep into that barn!! After that, I checked out some of the stuff from the newest update that I can make and then went searching for some villagers.  I could have sworn there were some, but couldn't find them.  I'm guessing creepers got them.  After a while I gave up and harvested some wood for charcoal and tools.  I also made a bunch of glass.  Finally I added some dirt I had in my inventory to the
Island,  Unfortunately I added too much on and have to get more.  I headed to the Mining Site and found out that, thanks to the new update, lily pads don't destroy my boat anymore!! Unfortunately apparently using the boat in shallow water can.  Lost 3 boats like that.

Canaday City Day 11

I remember why I left the Mining Camp 2(Where I was last time I played.)  I ran out of room in my inventory.

I set up shop there as a Mining Camp there because, in addition to a bunch of dirt, trees, and animals to hunt, there is a cave for me to mine in.  So that is a place I will probably be doing some mining.  I will also be doing some mining closer to the Farm site.

I returned to the Farm site and emptied out my inventory.  Then I went and harvested stuff from the farm.  Then I spent some time in the Tundra gathering wood for making fences for the Farm Site.  When I had what I felt was enough to get started (as well as too many gates since I forgot I don't actually need them for anything other then the barns) I started adding onto the Island.  Got one side done and started adding onto the other.  I will also have to add onto the back of the Island, but that will come later.

Canaday City Day 10

Have to be honest.  I didn't play Minecraft today.  In fact I haven't played it for a few weeks.  I'm actually watching the newest episode of Ghost Hunters right now.  Got to love DVR.  I could skip through the commercials if I wanted to but then I can't do stuff like sort my trading card collection and type this post during them.

Didn't do too much anyways.  Thought about not posting at all, but I figured I probably should.  All I did really was gather more dirt for the expansion of the Island.  On the bright side, at least I won't need as much as I originally thought.  Like I said last post, I decreased the size of the buildings, which will help.  Not only that, but I also moved the barns and gardens, which originally were going to be near the houses, to the mainland.  That means that much less dirt needed to make the Island big enough.

Canaday City Day 9

I started out by posting signs on each of the plots on the Farm.  I also expanded the one for the Cactus since I messed up on it''s size.  I ended up with a plot that I had no use for.  I know I had something planned there, but couldn't remember what.  So for now it is labeled as a Koi Pond.

I also planted a couple Cocoa Beans and pumpkins over by the current fields, just to see how I would want to plant them in the actual plots.

I headed out to the Island and finished filling in everything.  Not only did I convert it from mostly sand and some stone to dirt, I also expanded it some!  Unfortunately I didn't have enough dirt for the expansion, so I went out, got more, and finished it.

With that done, I started mapping out where everything went.  I ended up reducing the size of the houses some because the original size was just too big.  Not from a construction stand point., but over all.  It was just too big.  So I reduced the size a bit and made an interesting discovery.  After spending a couple days working on the Island, it turns out that...I need to make it twice as big as it is.  Looks like it is back to gathering dirt.  Sad face.

Canaday City Day 8

Finished gathering dirt.  There is still some there I could get, but it is all underwater and I didn't want to deal with it right now.  There is plenty above ground (or just barely below water) to deal with.  I also gathered some Jungle Wood so I can grow Cocoa Beans.

I returned to the farm site and went to bed because it was almost dark when I got there.  The workshop isn't that good of a shelter to hold off Zombies and Creepers.  I will be improving it eventually.

When I woke up, I started working on clearing the farm site.  Originally all plants and animals were going to be inside the City Walls, but when I decided not to build the city in the original location, I decided to use it for the farm.  After clearing all the Tall Grass and leveling/widening the floor, I started mapping out where everything went, digging up the ground to mark things as well as where a walk way will go.  I have some work to do, including work on the path leading to the work shop (now officially called Watchtower, because it will serve as a guard post protecting the farm) but I have a good start.  Over all I ended up with almost 300 Clay and nearly 1000 dirt, although I will need to put some back when I build the farm.

Time to go back to work on the island.
